Dr. Melissa Goodman

Dr. Melissa Goodman earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2006. During her training, she participated in an externship in Paris, France, and was the recipient of numerous awards for clinical and academic achievements. Upon graduation, she was selected to participate in a one-year residency at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto where she performed all aspects of dentistry, with an emphasis on patients with complex medical problems. She went on to complete her specialty certificate in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at New York University graduating in 2010. Her high standing there won her the clinical award for excellence in postgraduate Periodontics. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

As a board-certified Periodontist, Dr. Goodman’s scope of practice includes the non-surgical and surgical treatment of periodontal diseases, periodontal tissue regeneration and periodontal soft tissue grafting. She also has extensive training in the surgical placement of dental implants, including immediate implants, bone grafting (including guided bone regeneration and maxillary sinus augmentation), complicated extractions and soft tissue grafting to enhance the esthetics around dental implants. Dr. Goodman believes in prevention first and foremost. She strives to provide her patients with the best treatment options available, focusing on what is necessary for their long-term oral health.
